Reed Bed Liners

Enviroseal Reed Bed Liners

Reed beds are primarily used by the water industry for the treatment of waste water (brown water) in large and rural areas. This treatment is very environmentally friendly, and requires 6m² of reed bed per person.

Application

Reed beds are excavated and the base is then either covered with a layer of sand to the contract specification, or a geotextile which Enviroseal could supply to suit varying ground conditions. The reed bed liners will then be fabricated on site by our highly qualified geomembrane liner installation team. Each and every individual seam is tested by Enviroseal by either air testing or vacuum box testing. All welding equipment is tested before the start of each working day samples are taken out of a trial weld and tested. Then a geotextile is installed over the membrane to protect the reed bed liner from being punctured when the bed is filled with gravel.

All pipe penetrations are fabricated on site to Enviroseal’s high specification standards. All of our staff are BS TWI certificated, CSCS card holders and have undergone relevant health and safety courses.

Liners used for Reed bed projects are low density polyethylene geomembranes that provide the perfect solution. As they provide an impermeable barrier. They have excellent chemical and UV resistance, impermeability, and high yield and welded strengths. Liner thicknesses vary between 0.5mm 2.0mm.

All Liners supplied by Enviroseal come with a guarantee, this will vary on the liner thickness. All Enviroseal liners come with certification and independent laboratory test results. Liner materials supplied enable projects to be lined efficiently & successfully.
